Hi,

This is the release of v2.9.0.8-HL2 Beta 1 of Thetis for HL2.

It isn't a proper install but a zip of an install and can be placed in an different directory (I use C:\OpenHPSDR) so should allow the original release to still be used. Then just run Thetis.exe within your new directory.

If you haven't already done so, you first need to install the latest release of Thetis (x86 or x64 version) as it sets up things like skins and support for the new meter functionality. The link is

https://github.com/ramdor/Thetis-2.9.0/releases/tag/v2.9.0.8pre

Please read the release instructions associated with the above release as there has been updates to resources which will affect some controls.

This release may require a reset of the database.

No warranty or guarantee, use at your own risk. It should use it's own database but do a backup of your current Thetis one just in case.

Cheers

Reid,

Thanks for updating the Thetis for HL2. I had found that there were some other implementations of Thetis that have been adapted

to support the Hermes Lite 2.0 or the Apache Labs “Hermes Lite” versions, but not both. One or the other.

They incremented the Versioning number”s, but they had been incremented on incremented numbers. I have rolled back to your versioning.

Scott( WU2O ) had included adapting the DJControl Compact” Dual midi controls. I have included that import file to loaded some differing encoders.

I have included both a photo of the controller and the import file.

And now I have rolled back to your scheme of versioned software and imported the MIDI controller file to manage the controller functions.

The DJControl Compact controller is a good add ion to Thetis, with the K7FO CWKeyer it should make a solid system.

I'm aware to the issues with the Thetis versioning and I hope they get it resolved as it's great to have another developer working on the code base. The reason I don't include an installer with my releasees is to avoid the situation they are in now. I take the versioning number from the official Thetis and add HL2 to identify it. I believe the addition developer only has a HL2 and it has been suggested that he identifies his release as HL2. To avoid any confusion, I will add my call sign to this and all future releases.

I must say that the new meters are great but the whole Thetis UI could do with a update to make it a bit more polished. I think the official development team are looking on how to improve it.

Hi Reid,

Thanks for this great work.  A quick question: For HL2 use, do I select "HERMES" or "HERMES LITE" in the Radio Model box? (Can the option be changed to say "HL2" in future versions)?

Thanks and 73.

Hello Reid,

I am having a great time with v2.9.0.8-HL2 Beta 1. Overall, it is working great for me!

I have a feature request (sorry if this is not the best place for this): Can saved memories have an option to be shown on the panadapter? I am used to an ELAD FDM-DUO running SW-2, and this feature was really great.  If this option could be added (maybe a "display on panadapter" tick box option, per memory), it would be fantastic.

See below for an example (it is fantastic for beacons, etc...) :

Hello Reid,

I have just discovered something unusual that I wanted to report to you:

I have my HL2 running in Thetis HL2 2.9.0.8 Beta1, set at RX 384000. I have noticed that when I TX with PS-A enabled, my TX signal is displayed at 2x what it really is. (The frequency scale does not update - what it shows is incorrect).

This does not occur in Single Cal mode at 384000. Or any other mode that I can tell.  (It stays at the same (correct) "zoom"). It is like the RX is dropping back to 192000 (or less) with PS-A enabled, but the frequency scale is not updating.

It would be great if the frequency scaled/updated on TX/RX to match the change in sample rate - I don't personally mind if it "zooms in" (by 2x) and corrects the frequency scale on TX if it must. Or better still, if it remembers individual (user defined) zoom settings for TX and RX modes (which I like - ie., they don't need to be locked together).  I panicked earlier because I thought my TX was 6kHz wide! (it was only 3kHz) :)

Thanks again and best 73

Hi Pez,

It took me a minute to figure out what you are seeing but I can confirm that it is happening. I'll bear it in mind and if I come across a fix, will add it to the code base.

Cheers
