Thiruchendur Surasamharam Festival Details 2013

This temple is known as the second Arupadai Veedu of Lord Muruga. Lord Muruga won the battle with the asura, Surapadma and worshipped Lord Shiva in this sacred place. The temple is situated along the shores of the Bay of Bengal. The seven-day Kanda Sashti festival began with traditional fervour and gaiety on November 3, 2013 in Thirchendur Murugan Temple. Thousands of devotees from various parts of the State thronged the Subramania Swamy Temple in Tiruchendur from early morning on the occasion of Soorasamharam (victory of good over evil) and offered special prayers.

 

In Lord Murgan's temples, the six-day Skanda Sashti (Kanda Shasti, sasti) festival begins on November 3, 2013 (Sunday).  Further details are
