Hi All,

As per Sargunam uncle, few members from FION from Sterlite Technologies have visited Heritage 10 and explained the features [broadband/IPTV/VOIP/value added servies like CCTV, home security].

I was been to Heritage 10 office today[May 1st]and saw the brochure and spoke to Sargunam uncle to know more and he told to call directly to Manager of Sterlite Technologies. And I had more than 30 minutes of discussion with manager.

Summary of call:

-They want to bring Heritage 10 into their optical ring network.

-This will enable to residents to get services broadband through optical network to 100Mbps.

-For installation of this system, we don't need to pay anything from our side.

-We residents does not need to go for services, it is optional.

-Have asked them to give free subscription for internet for us to compare it with ACT/Airtel and other service providers.

-The system which they install comprising of 4 devices and controller comes with power back up of 4 hours. 3-4 devices cater needs 52 flats.

-They will draw two optical fiber cables from ground to top through existing piping. On top they will have their systems installed.

-No health hazards as it is through wiring.

-Overall the explanation and knowledge of the manager is good.

Long back I have worked in optical fiber technology and very briefly on FTTH. Could understand what they were trying to do. It will be pretty good to have this infrastructure in our Heritage 10 apartment.

In my view as we don't have to pay anything from our side, it is good to avail the service. We can ask for trial run for internet services for a month and if good individuals can think to migrate to this technology and have superior connectivity with less down time.

Dear All,
I think it's best that we make use of the Google Community as everybody can give inputs according to their convenience before the meeting.
Just a thought as its always difficult to get common time.
Best Regards,
Rajesh

Dear Mr. K. Janardhanan,

There are many types of discussions that usually take place other than the policy making ones you have mentioned in the mail below. And there are many small issues for which the decisions need not be red taped by calling executive meetings for every thing. This makes the process slow and things will get done very slowly as is the case now.

And making use of the available technology which everyone has access to and which can make the process for such things simpler by means of votes etc and which can be done online at everyone's convenience is never a wrong one. Once decision arrived, then can easily proceed with what needs to be done rather than worrying about the protocol of arriving at that decision. Which is what you have mentioned in your mail below.

And that's the way all organisations NOWADAYS work no matter how small.

Also it should also be noted that not all owners are staying here and this makes things easier for them as well.

Best Regards,
Rajesh K Soman

Dear  Mr.Rajesh Soman,

While it is good to share the  news of HERITAGE-X, if it is common in every resident’s  interest,  but,  it is Important that we should discuss every important issues (Policy Decisions)  in the Executive Committee  Meeting with agenda circulated by the General Secretary atleast one week’s notice and take a decision, not to air those issues in Google communication and discuss them and not to reach any decision.

When working in a social organization, one has to find time to in everyone’s interest.  In an Executive Committee meeting normally, for a policy decision, one third majority of Managing Committee is required to pass that or any simple issues, the meeting should have atleast more than 50% of the Managing Committee members. No major decision should be taken may be financial or otherwise, by any single person of the Managing Committee.

That is the way an Association should work.

Dear Mahesh,

Couldn't stop myself from writing this email.
As part of this association, i believe everyone has rights to give their thoughts/ideas. And thats exactly what Rajesh did on this mail chain.
But what happened later was really uncalled for. Such criticism/comments, could have been provided to individuals on their personal email without copying anyone else.

If this is what is going to happen on providing suggestion/ideas, then I humbly request you to not include me in any of the mails/ meeting.

I have always obliged  by association's decision and will continue to do so in future as well. Have complete trust in the association.

Thank you everyone for your valuable time on Heritage 10 maintenance and improvement. Really appreciate the effort that you all have put in.

Note: Please, no more destructive criticism. Lets work together for a better Heritage 10.

Regards,
Abhishek

Dear Mr.Rajesh Soman,

Your msg. is full of advises and how to use the new technology and so on, on  working of an association.

You should know that communication is strong tool to communicate when it is needed, not to discuss on an Association’s working or a Govt.,  an office or a house running.  Every Association, government or a House or an office  should be working after due discussion with all members involved and a decision taken in each INSTITUTIONS  interest,  These are not debated thru e-mail messages and decision taken.   A healthy discussion is done in every forum by all members on the agenda prepared by the concerned presiding offer with the permission of the Chair, in Association, the President, at Office, by the head of office, at residence, the father and in the parliament by the Speaker.  Al these INSTITUTIONS  are not called RED TAPES !!!.

Coming to HERITAGE-X Association and their working.  For the last couple of years, every Managing Committee Members, in particular, Mr.Sargunam, Mr.Anil, Mr.Mahesh, Mr.Pradeep  & me  have given immense contributions to HERITAGE-X  to reach this stage.  It has not happened overnight, as you see it.  It was not an easy task to get the things done from the Builder every time talking, talking and meeting & meeting  etc., these are not done thru e-mail msgs.   Every major work undertaken in the HERITAGE-X  were done after due deliberations & debating and consultation during the Managing Committee meetings only.

It is not a healthy practice of airing the issues in public domain and spending time sending msgs. by each one.  E-mail msgs. should be sent to convey the meeting date, or convey the minutes of meeting or to convey any important issues, not to discuss every issues each other in public and tear them off.. Half of that time is not requried to discuss when meeting is conducted with proper agenda and discussion and decision taken thereof.  When some one writes, he would have one idea in his mind and when it is read by another person, he would inerpret in a different way, as is now happening with this msg.

Now referring to Technology, dear Rajesh, before you  were born I started this technology in late 80s, do not give me advice on technology, you have not reached that stage.

Your sentence - And that's the way all organisations NOWADAYS work no matter how small” must be joking, I am in this Organisation as 2nd Boss, risen from Office Assistant, after working hard  and sincere, a Company started in 1850s an MNC of USA, and following wherever necessary discussion and discuss only and taking people together only, not thru e-mail msgs.

I am not staying there, my interest is only a few houses purchased thru me, like my Sons, Brothesr, cousin brothers and friends, being a Power of Attorney Holder of two flats, I am extending my support to HERITAGE-X , Ok. Do not dampen the spirit.

So, Rajesh, let us not send msgs. each other tearing each other and giving sermons and advises, work together for the welfare of HERITAGE-X residents , you have to go a long way to prove your working in HERITAGE-X. for the welfare of the residents.

I do not want to have a e-mail war now and do not itend to send any more msgs. on this subject, we are having more important issues to solve both in office and elsewhere..
