Ack! Yes. Of course.
It appears our snapshots are likely being built without external-gui support
(not sure why; I'm looking into it) so of course the problem never showed up
there. My bad! Please accept my apologies.
For the time being, until we can decide how best to properly fix things
(we're trying to look into how to set them automatically), I guess you're
going to have to use a command similar to the following (offered by Enrico
Sorichetti):
./configure --enable-external-gui CFLAGS="-D V1=3 -D V2=7"

Please see my response to mcisho for the temporary workaround:
./configure --enable-external-gui CFLAGS="-D V1=3 -D V2=7"
I'll make another post once the permanent fix is decided upon. Cool?
