This is a grassroots initiative to connect the people of San Jose, the capitol of "Silicon Valley" to Herat, the second-largest city in Afghanistan. Sister Cities are known for people-to-people diplomacy and Herat is a gateway city to the historic Persian civilization (including present-day Iran).
