Dear friends and colleagues,
I hope this message finds you well.
I am excited to share that I recently delivered a WMO Inspirational TED-style talk, titled “Let's Get Personal - How Personalised Flood Alerts Could Save Lives,” at the High Flows – Stories on Water event on December 4th in Geneva. The talk highlights the evolution of Flood Early Warning Systems and their vital role in saving lives.
The key message is clear "Flood warnings must move beyond generic alerts and become actionable, personalized guidance".
WMO advertised the event on LinkedIn [HERE], and you can watch my 8-minutes talk in the Stories on Water series [HERE].
I hope this talk inspires greater engagement and innovation in our collective efforts toward more effective flood warning systems.
Best regards,
Ilias Pechlivanidis
