Dear colleagues,

The Research Board Task Team on Data Exchange with the Research Sector (TT-DERS) was constituted in response to the WMO Unified Data Policy to consult with academic and research institutions to develop recommendations on a uniform data exchange policy for research purposes, including different types of data (variables and time scales, including historical data).

As part its consultation efforts, TT-DERS is conducting a survey with the research community to identify gaps and challenges in sharing data and gather insights from researchers’ perspectives on the data sharing process. As a result, we invite you to participate in this 12-minutes long Survey by 3 August 2025 (UTC).

The results of the survey will inform the development of recommendations on data sharing with the research sector to be presented to the WMO Research Board for endorsement.
