Hello Antipodean Hepexers (and those who like to travel!)
We invite you to submit an abstract to our session
8.4 Statistical, post-processing and verification
methods for environmental forecasting at next year's AMOS conference to be held
23-27 June, 2025, in
Cairns. The session focusses on statistical and data driven methods that are used to improve the quality of forecasts, and on methods that are used to evaluate and diagnose forecast quality. It includes, but is not limited
to, the post-processing of probabilistic and ensemble forecasts to improve reliability, statistical methods for the quality control of observations, data driven methods (such as machine learning) for improving forecasts, applications of decision theory to
evaluate forecast utility, and advances in verification methods.
Abstracts are due by
30 November 2024 (this week!), so you'll need to get in quick. For more information and for abstract submission go to:
https://amos2025.org.au/.
Looking forward to seeing you in Cairns!
Cheers,
James (On behalf of the session organisers)
