When I heard that you could look up recipes and cheat items with Not Enough Items, I downloaded NEI. It worked, and then I got another mod and the all of a sudden NEI still worked, but it was locked in recipe mode only. I tried fixing it by putting it into cheat mode again, but it was still in recipe mode.
I knew the only reason this happened was probably because of a change in the mod. Then I was watching a YouTuber who had the same exact mod as me and NEI was working and not locked in recipe mode for him. I tried redownloading NEI and getting it again but I was still stuck in recipe mode.
This is a config option to lock NEI in Recipe Mode only. It's designed for people (like me) who want to commit to a Survival game, but can't help themselves when it's so easy to cheat in items. This option is on by default when you download NEI.
You can turn this off in the configuration file. Go to the config folder (probably C:/Users/YourName/AppData/Roaming/.minecraft/config) and find NEI.cfg. Open it with Notepad, and change the line that says lockmode=0 to lockmode=-1. This will unlock the option to switch to cheat mode in the options menu in-game.
Hi I need help. I have no self control, and I just really wanna play modded survival without cheating and I can never control myself and I always end up turning on LAN with cheats so that I can cheat or go get my stuff if I die. Are there any mods out there that change that? I just can't control myself and I wanna feel good knowing I'm playing legit survival.
As others above have said, best thing to do is go on a server and play there. Unless you have been given the permissions and proper commands to do so, spawning items in, going in creative mode, turning on god mode, etc. can't be done.
TheMasterCaver's First World - possibly the most caved-out world in Minecraft history - includes world download.
TheMasterCaver's World - my own version of Minecraft largely based on my views of how the game should have evolved since 1.6.4.
Why do I still play in 1.6.4?
While we all may enjoy a nice, long, and engrossing campaign in Age of Empires 2, sometimes you just want to speed things up and get to the good stuff. After a dozen or so games, it can get tedious to build up your civilization, gather all those resources, and get to the more exciting parts. That's where cheats come in. These handy codes can be used to either make the game basically beat itself, or just give yourself a helping hand if you start to spiral. Let's run through every cheat there is so you can decide what kind of ruler you want to be.
How to use cheats
Cheating is so easy in Age of Empires 2 that the game almost begs you to do it. While playing, just hit Enter to bring up the command box and type in one of the cheats below to instantly get access to its effect.
After so many years, we've all just about given up hope for a sequel to Starcraft 2, so we might as well have as much fun with this entry as possible. While there is significant depth on the multiplayer and even some great expansions, dedicated players have no doubt hit a wall in terms of how much fun they can have through normal means. That's when triggering some handy cheats can breathe some new life into this master class of an RTS. We've gathered all the necessary resources to build you the definitive list of cheats and console commands for Starcraft 2.
How to enter cheats
Unlike console games that require long codes or hidden button combinations to trigger cheats, PC gamers have a much easier time. You can start cheating in Starcraft 2 by simply opening the chat window and pressing the Enter key. This will open a window where you simply enter one of the cheats below, hit Enter once more, and see the effect take place.
Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga is an absolute blast. The simple, yet challenging, gameplay makes for a fun solo adventure or a multiplayer romp if you tackle it co-op with a friend. And what makes an arcade multiplayer experience even more fun? Cheat codes!
Cheat codes are becoming less and less popular options in modern gaming, but Lego titles are keeping the fun alive with secret codes instead of locking content behind cosmetic stores or paid DLCs. Cheat codes are notoriously cryptic and nearly impossible to guess, so here's a full list of all the cheats in Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga and what they unlock.

Minecraft cheats and commands can be used to alter features of your world and make things easier, such as changing the time of day, enchanting gear, or teleporting around. If you've got cheats enabled in your world, you can open the chat box and start entering commands to make the changes you want. These cheat features are available for both Java and Bedrock Editions of Minecraft, so you can even use console commands on consoles and not just PC. Below, we've got everything you need to know about Minecraft cheats and commands for Java and Bedrock, including how to enable them in your world, how to enter them, and a few lists of useful commands to try out.
If you haven't generated your world with cheats enabled, or you want to enable cheats on an existing world, you need to open the game menu, choose 'Open to LAN', then toggle 'Allow Cheats' to on. Click 'Start LAN World' to properly enable you to enter Minecraft commands and cheats. Do note that you'll have to follow these steps to enable cheats every time you log back into that Minecraft world, as the cheats won't stay enabled after you stop playing.
If you're playing Bedrock Edition using a keyboard, you enter Minecraft commands and cheats much in the same way as Java Edition. When you're in a world with cheats enabled, press '/' to bring up the chat menu already with a slash in the text box. Now type in your command and press enter to run it.
If you've already started a game and want to enable cheats, you can do this from the Settings menu, although you must be the creator of the world you're in. With Settings open, scroll down to the 'Game' menu and then scroll down to 'Activate Cheats'. You can turn this on to enable cheats or off to disable them, but be aware that disabling cheats will not re-enable achievements for that world.
Those should be more than enough Minecraft cheats to let you mess around in your worlds to your heart's content. If you need any more assistance with using any of these commands, then simply type /help [command] for additional information and guidance.
i was trying to enable cheats on my minecraft multiplayer server.
Normaly this is a server setting but i cant seem to find it.
i think i need this setting to be able to go in spectator and creative mode. because now i get a meesage that i dont have permission to do so.
This is a great idea! To make sure I understand the request, which features within cheats are you trying to prevent players from accessing? For example, "cheats" needs to be on to enable always day or disable mob spawning. Additionally, many times someone thinks of "cheating" it could be by switching to creative mode and giving themselves items. I'd like to make sure I understand what elements of the game you are trying to disallow. Thanks!
I can lock them on survival mode by hiding a repeating command block in the world with /gamemode s but then they can still "cheat" by using other slash commands. It would be nice if there was a way to disable slash commands altogether. I suppose it could be problematic because it might then prevent the original builder/world editor from turning them back on??
Great suggestion! Thanks for the extra details - some of that is possible with pretty advanced manual configurations to the education.json, but there is no easy way for teachers to set those properties. I'll take that feedback back to our team to see what we can come up with.
This thread appears to have been pretty dead.
However, I do believe one can use the education.json file in a world to limit what /commands will work in that file. I know I've seen the educaiton.json in some of the library world templates and you can't really edit those worlds unless you pull that file out while you work on your edits.
Enabling cheats in the Bedrock edition isn't much different than in Java. This works on PC, PlayStation, Nintendo Switch, and Xbox. The "Pocket" versions on iPhone, iPad, and Android also have similar steps.
You'll enter all your cheat codes into the chat box, as if you were talking to another player. You can open the chat box by pressing T on your keyboard, or the right D-pad button on your controller.
Quick tip: If you're having trouble figuring out exactly what to type after a certain command, pay attention to the screen above the chat box. It'll usually offer suggestions as you type, letting you know how to complete most cheat commands.
If you've found a cave full of Creepers that you really don't want to deal with, you can take them all out in one go with the /kill command. You'll type it like this: /kill @e[type=EnemyName].
Quick tip: If you open the chat box and press the Up arrow on your keyboard or Up on your controller's D-pad, you can quickly retype the last command you entered. Use this to save time when repeating commands.
Minecraft is one of those games that is destined to live on until the end of time. It can be quite complicated for anyone jumping in, so that's where Minecraft console commands and cheats come into play.
Ranging from simple options, like spawning items, to things you didn't even think were possible, such as changing the weather, cloning blocks, freezing time or even teleportation, it's a great way to experiment in the Overworld and let loose without the fear of causing major destruction - since these abilities are limited to specific places.
