The federal government is all set to introduce sweeping changes to Canada's Citizenship rules when members of PARLIMENT return to Ottawa next week. Citizenship  and Immigration Minister Chris Alexander announced that the government will table a bill in the next session of 
Parliament that will see"the first comprehensive reform to the Citizenship Act in more than generation. When the rules changes will be significant, Alexander said the government won't deal with the contentious issue of ranting automatic citizenship to anyone born on Canadian
Soil. But the government is considering changes to deal with the problem of so called "birth-
Tourism" OR "Passport Babies," 
Alexander said the reform will aim  to give Canadian Citizenship to "Lost Canadians"who had
Seen it denied from them for one reason or other over the years. But one of the most important changes will be the new rules giving the Canadian government power to strip a person of citi-
zenship in exceptional circumstances, such as in cases of "treason" OR "act of terrorism."
