we, the Dept of Haematology and Dept of Transfusion Medicine at The Mission Hospital, Durgapur, West Bengal have arranged a CME on hemostasis and coagulation disorder on 12th July evening 7-30 pm. The programme will be a case based discussion on coagulation disorder, prophylactic therapy for hemophilia, and management of rare coagulation disorder. Also a lively discussion on use of thromboelastography and platelet mapping in cardio-logical practice will be held. recently, we have started platelet mapping based on thromboelastography, to detect aspirin, clopidogrel resistance as well as an alternative to conventional platelet function study.

Thank you for touching upon the most important subject about “alternative to conventional platelet function study”.

I am enclosing herewith three articles – emphasizing the need to obtain pharmacogenetic Dx test report for CYP2C19 mutation status within 24-48 hours, and consequences of delay in receiving the report, or worst.. not doing this test at-all. This is current situation in India.

I am eager to know, when will Indian centres begin to offer this service to patients? Hope your CME covers this subject during the session.
