This library contains computer mouse cursors for Microsoft Windows systems. There are two types of cursors supported directly by Windows operating systems:static (.cur) and animated (.ani). Both types are present in this library.Learn how to download cursors.

If you change your cursors frequently, consider using a free tool that allows you tochange cursor from Windows Explorer context menu. Beside changing cursors one by one, the tool also allows exporting and importing cursor schemes.

If you do not want to install any software, just click on Control Panel in Start menu, then double-click the Mouse icon andswitch to Pointer tab. Here you can change the cursors used by Windows in differentsituations to the downloaded ones.

Important: only cursor authors or copyright holders may add cursor to the library. If you are using pictures downloaded from internet to create cursors, you must make sure the author of the picturesallows this use of their work.

Important: always create 32x32 pixels cursors unless you have a serious reason not to. While it is possible to make cursors of non-standard size, Windows will automatically resample them decreasing image quality.

I used to be able to uncheck a checkbox that said Emulate touch screen in the Emulation/Sensors-panel so that I could see a mouse pointer when using responsive mode. This panel is now gone, and the new sensors-panel doesn't have this setting.

This makes it impossible to use the responsive mode, as I have no pointer and no control where I touch/click (who designed this feature?!). How can I see a pointer/mouse when I use responsive mode in newer Chrome?

The answer is pretty straightforward. Chrome gives you an option to create a custom device. Follow these steps: 1. Open dev tools 2. Press F1 to get into settings 3. go to devices 4. Add a custom device there.

Press Ctrl + Shift + C while the mouse is over the page in order to turn "Select an element in the page to inspect it" mode on then turn it back off using the icon and not the shortcut. Your cursor is now visible :)

Added: What ACTUALLY solved my problem was swaping the connection from HDMI to DisplayPort! I dont know weather it was the cable problem or the port. Finally the cursor is there and working!

Hi There, I'm connecting to my office computer from a brand new Dell laptop using Windows 10 and once connected my mouse pointer gets extremely small. Approx. 1/4 the size of a sunflower seed. I've enlarged the mouse pointer on both computers and it doesn't help. I've used Go To MyPC for years and connect using many types of devices, never had this problem. I can't work like this, please help!

Hi, I have found a reasonable solution for this, on the logmein side if you go to additional mouse options - mouse properties - pointers you can customise the scheme, if you choose an 'extra large 'version it enlarges the pointer significantly. I have a 5k Mac at home and 1920x1200 on logmein so the pointer was very small and now its only slightly smaller.

Hi Carol,
Sorry for the trouble there!

Could you check the GoToMyPC preferences on the Host computer, in the 'Performance' section? See if toggling the quality or performance options help with the visibility aspect.

It's a show issue more than likely, a windows issue. Mine progressions a ton since we are continually exchanging screens and shows. To begin with ensure that your content Scale and Layout show is at 100%. I turn on full-screen line of sight as a work around.

Did anyone ever find a solution to this issue? I have the exact same problem and no matter what I try (including the suggested workaround) nothing works, I still have a miniscule mouse cursor when logged into my office machine from my laptop. It's painful as it's so tiny that I keep losing sight of it which slows efficient working down enormously.....

I use Windows 10 on both machines. Laptop monitor size 13.3", desktop monitor 21.5", ratio setting (if I understand correctly) is set to full size. Bottom line is that everything is absolutely fine apart from the mouse cursor size and although it's been like this for ages now it was originally OK....back in the day when LogmeinFree was still available...

Sorry to hear that. The only workaround I've found so far is to lower the resolution of my PC at home, which makes the mouse a little larger in some apps, but still almost impossible to see in others, such as Outlook.

My biggest issue is browing the web, and our workplace uses Office 365's web-based Outlook for email. When I'm typing or reading emails, the mouse pointer is virtually invisible. Very frustrating. The "workaround" still didn't help there. Hope that helps (some).

Just wanted to stop by and say I'm having the exact same issue. Logging in to my large HD monitor at home from my surface. I had to change the LogMeIn resolution to 1280x800 to get everything to be big enough to see on my Surface, but the mouse remains miniscule. Like everyone else said, I tried to change the size of my cursor on the remote machine and this made no difference.

I faced the same problem on Ubuntu 24.04 beta, on GNOME / Ubuntu desktops, using my preferred cursor theme DMZ-White. When the mouse is over the top bar or the dock/launcher (whatever it's called), the mouse pointer is a light gray (almost white) square.

My problem was: The mouse pointer seemed to disappear when I moved to the right side of the screen. It then appeared after say 3 to 5 seconds after moving the mouse up, down, left, right. This was quite annoying when doing work on the computer.

Click Dash (upper left corner) and type "system settings". Click "System Settings", then All Settings > Displays If its as of my case, you will see a box call Unknown Display to the left of Built in Display in a big box with grey background

In my case one of the above worked fine for a while (I will try to look up where I left the fix, it's been a while since I applied it), but nowadays things are a bit hectic and the cursor disappears say in 20% of the cases.

My mouse was disappearing on the login screen on my laptop and after trying all the answers here (and elsewhere) I plugged in a USB mouse and the mouse showed up again and worked when using the USB mouse (but the trackpad still wouldn't work). To get the trackpad working again I had to restart WHILE the USB mouse was plugged in. Now I'm back to normal.

Mouse cursor disappear should be some bugs of the mouse support service in Ubuntu.
I installed mouse service "gpm" in my Ubuntu server 20.04 on VirtualBox.Mouse cursor disappears frequently in Ubuntu terminal when I switch between VirtualBox and windows 10.
Other than rebooting VM, my lightweight solution is to stop the mouse support service "gpm" and restart it again as below:

When I work remotely and remote desktop from my WinXP machine to a Win7 box everything is fine. When I launch a virtual machine from within that Win7 box and use my mouse pointer it is invisible inside the VM. If I hover over the title bar area of the running VM my mouse pointer will turn into a hand and I can guess where my pointer is at from there but it doesnt change (into resize or a textbar for example).

I too have had this problem, the only way I could find round it was to use remote desktop to remote into the virtual machine itself directly, either that or go to www.logmein.com and setup a free account and use that to login to the virtual machine directly. For some reason mouse pointers dont seem to roam very well between three locations.

Another option is to use a lan enabled kvm switch, this is different to using remote desktop in that the signal for the mouse / keyboard is fed directly into the keyboard and mouse sockets on the pc at the other end instead of being virtualised by remote deskptop, so the mouse pointer would appear in the VM the same as it does when viewing it at the pc itself, they are not overly cheap though, although you can prob find a second hand one on ebay.

I encountered this issue this morning on a Windows 8.1 VM. I will say this is remote access through Citrix to the Machine. To resolve it I Opened Mouse Properties > Pointer Options and selected Display pointer trails setting the distance to short to minimize the effect of the trails.

Disabling this option should disable direct access to GPU, remote desktop emulates a graphics card instead of using real hardware. A bug on graphics drivers (real one) may be the reason for invisible mouse pointer which may not exist on emulated graphics card drivers. Updating drivers may also solve the problem.

In my case the issue was with remote desktop connection manager tool I was using . I noticed when I use mstsc in full screen I did not have this missing mouse pointer issue. so it was typically a monitor resolution and rescale problem.

My issue showed up when i updated my Hosts to 5.5.0 8 update 3 and then updated my client. the mouse disappeared, after countless minutes/hours trying to get the cursor back, I threw in the towel and uninstalled the client and sifting through the regisrty and folders remving any hint of vShereCleint 5.5.0.8 update 3e. I then downloaded a new installer from vmWare and installed it. Disappearing mouse curser issue is resolved.

I had the same issue. This is NOT a caret issue - it's a mouse cursor issue with a dark theme ("Ruby Blue" for me). The culprit in the end turned out to be a long-time VirtualBox bug, as described here:

My solution was to change the "Text Select" curson to the "beam_r" cursor. Just go into Mouse Properooties -> Pointers, select the "Text Select" option, click on "Browse..." and select "beam_r.cur". From this screenshot, you can now clearly see my mouse cursor, even though I am using a dark theme.
