My friend's PC (running winXP) shows under Device Manager, a yellow
mark for Multimedia Audio Controller. I know this means the sound card
driver is missing. Hence there is no sound coming out when playing
audio files. Problem is he has lost the disc that came with the driver
and I therefore cannot install the sound driver for him.

How do I identify the sound card driver? If I can identify the sound
card driver I will be able to search for it in driversguide.com or
other sites.

Someone please help me.

Hi,

You can find out from the PC model if it is a branded one otherwise from mother board find out the correct model and download from the manufacturer web site in both the cases.
