I am trying to find how to control/adjust the side light on the Scimitar mouse. The light which is right in front of the 1-12 side keys. When i turn my computer on, the light is red. Once CUE starts up the light turns white. I am wondering if/how you can change the colour/turn off that light. Under lighting controls all i see is the front 3 bar light, scroll wheel, 1-12 buttons, and corsair logo but there is no option at all for the light which faces the side buttons.
Then i went to the Software to check if for some reasons my settings were reset or whatnot. And to my surprise i found out that my Left Click was greyed out. I can't set an action as if the button was dead.
Another issue, related to the support assistance. I don't know if something is broken on the website but there was no way i could directly contact the support team through the website. I tried with firefox and vivaldi, addons on and off and still no way to get to the support ticket. I'm stuck at a page asking me my informations, after i submit it, it reloads the page to same the point. It's annoying. :(:
Either the switch is getting old and faulty OR and I think this is more likely if you do not have double click issues is that the plastic part of the mouse, inside is worn so isn't pressing the little white button/tab on the switch properly thus your need to press harder.
My razer naga which I had when they first came out was made cheap like this and had the same issues so I had to DIY fix it by by gluing a "metal" cap on the end of the tab that presses on the switch itself though I ended up getting rid of it 6 months later as razer was simply to cheap to sell replacement covers for the mouse which would have been a better fix.
The pic of the scimitar in step 2 shows the worn tab, tab is a little different than on the razer naga but the "worn notch" is the exact same which tells me corsair uses the same cheapo soft plastic for that tab.
The fix for the scimitar looks easier than for the naga though simply due to how the worn tab is made as it looks easier to glue on a "fix or replacement" as the tab is more square so easier to glue on than the flat "thin" tab in the naga.
For a few weeks now I've been having issues with the mouse cursor freezing up for about a second, and it happens about once every 15-30 minutes. I've tried the old and the new CUE, tried rolling back firmware etc and nothing seems to fix it.
I have to make a small correction to the post above: so it happens if I lift a bit the mouse from the desk and place it down gently. It then freezes for a bit of time until i move it angrily. If i move it just gently it is stuck. But then again, this is not the only time it freezes.
Hi Just wanted to say i am having the same issues with the short second or so freeze every few minutes. I only got my SCIMITAR mouse a coouple of days ago and it is VERY noticeable and irritating when working in CAD software.
i am not sure if there has been a windows update or something, but this thing doesn't freeze anymore like it was when i first got it, so happy days. but it would still freeze if i lifted it even just the slightest bit off the surface i had it on. (any surface.) It's funny, but you don't realise how much you do that until it causes issues. lol.
i have just got home with a corsair MM300 mouse pad and it now works as i would expect a mouse like this to work. i can lift it quite a way off the surface of the mouse pad and it still works fine. No lag. no issues. so it would appear to be a surface issue.
just for the record i had tried it on my desk surface (office desk Beech "timber" laminate top, typical work/office type desk) when i first got it. i had tried it with paper of a few different types under it. and on our kitchen table which has white chalk paint on it. also a timber table we have, all with the same results as my OP.
I think this will end up being attached to my PC though as i travel a lot with my laptop and need something that works on any surface like my old mice did. Sorry Corsair, as much as i love the feel of the mouse and now that i am used to it, the number pad, i just don't want to have to add a mouse pad to my travel kit.
I just updated to icue 4 and my scimitar mouse isn't recognized by icue and the buttons on the side don't work now. Funny, I almost clicked on to check for firmware update for my mouse in icue3.?? before I clicked check software update, yet the 2 softwares are apparently on different pages.
edit- after looking through the link from corsair blade I realized icue4 won't see my mouse so I uninstalled icue4, but didn't click on either of the delete buttons presented since I was hoping to salvage by binds. rather than installing this build's original icue3.??, I checked corsair's support download section and icue 3.38.61 is listed for the scimitar, downloaded and installed it and my original profile rolled into it and bindings working just like before, so at least im back up and where I was before the software upgraded to icue4.
This is an egregious form of planned obsolescence. Now I'm forced to buy a newer model that is identical to the old, with no apparent hardware improvement, just so I can get software support? Blaspheme.
Having a Scimitar Pro and not being displayed or anything else (save the DPI switch button working) and having been a Corsair customer since 2011? It really annoys me and makes me reconsider purchasing another Corsair product. (As I have a H100i, K95, Scimitar, 4 sticks of Corsair Vengeance) This is the most asinine update ever. Especially given how much money is shelled out for these products collectively.
I am a new pc owner and I just bought a scimitar mouse about a week ago and was able to edit lighting effects in the RGB zones as desired (I have saved these edits.) Now once my computer boots up all of the zones change to red and I cannot change the zones (except the DPI indicating light.) The mouse will light up to the saved effects for a brief second then change to red. I cannot figure this issue out and from my research I have not found any post on this topic. Here is a list of things that I have done:
Thank you for posting this! Too bad there's no reply as of yet from Corsair. I'm having an similar issue that started recently. I've been using the Scimitar mouse for a couple of years with no issues but now whenever I start a program all the lighting effects turn red and I'm unable to change them back, even when adjusting the lighting settings in CUE.
When I close CUE the mouse reverts back to the factory default lighting scheme. Restarting CUE and selecting a profile will implement the correct lighting but once another program starts the lights will all turn red again and the problem persists. I've also tried the steps mentioned above to no avail. Programs I've run when I've noticed this issue are Diablo 3, World of Warcraft, Flash CS3, Minecraft, and Photoshop CS4. When running Diablo, WoW, and Minecraft the lighting configuration doesn't change when the launcher is open, only once the actual games begin running. When I just start my computer and I'm on my desktop with no programs running I can change lighting effects and the effects seem to persist until a program starts.
Correct, if you close the application the lights will revert back to default because the lighting effects are controlled via the software. Unless you have the pro model and have set up lighting effects within the hardware profiles themselves.
So I purchased a Scimitar RGB Pro back in late 2019 and it was fantastic for almost 2 years, but after a while it started developing a weird problem with the scroll wheel, sometimes an upscroll would register as a downscroll and vice versa. It made scrolling through anything, and especially long pages an absolute nightmare. I put in an RMA and I'm extremely thankful that they actually decided to send me a replacement (they sent me an Elite though saying they no longer had the Pro in stock) given that it was a few weeks past it's 2 year standard warranty, I didn't really expect anything but they actually came through with a replacement which was awesome of them.
The mouse I received was a refurbished unit, you could tell since it didn't come in it's original packaging, just some bubble wrap and a plain cardboard box, and there was a couple of very minor but noticeable scuffs on it. Again - I wasn't bothered by that since I wasn't really expecting anything at all and was just happy to have functioning mouse again. The replacement worked great for another 4 months after that, at this point the replacement also starts exhibiting the same mouse wheel problems as the original - the exact same problem. I'm at the point now where I am having to use the sidebar to scroll through pages since using the wheel is infuriatingly random.
