MEETING SAT. APRIL 17TH

Hi Everyone,

 

I hope everyone had a wonderful Easter!  As you all know right now our main objective is working on shipping the container and ensuring that it actually gets to the orphanage. Our secondary concern is filling the container, which as I stated in the meeting minutes is right now about 70-75% full.

 

Goal # 1: Filling the container

• please bring all donations (including your own) to my house by April 17th. Again this includes summer/spring clothes, meds, can goods etc.
• Feel free to bring items to my house before the April 17th meeting

Goal #  2: Shipping the Container

• Jamal and Phelica please check with your contacts regarding shipping to see if we can get a better price. Right now the price is $4,635.00.
• If anyone else has shipping connections or can help in this effort please let me know.
• Discussing logistics with Sr. Alta.

Our meeting is on April 17th because Sr. Alta will be in town. Please try and attend this very important meeting. The meeting will be at my house at 7:30PM. I will send out another reminder next week.

I will bring some boxes of items.   

Today, on my way back from vacation, I stumbled on a camping store in the Shenandoah Mountain which was selling  outdoor gear products which are very appropriate for the conditions in Haiti now.  These products are all from the companies listed below.  If we need to buy any extra items to fill up the truck, I recommend these same companies since their products are very appropriate for the needs in Haiti now.

This is a reminder that we will be having a meeting this Sat. at 7:30PM at my house.  If anyone is available to help out with taking an inventory of the container before the meeting on Saturday please let me know. Please bring any donations that you may have with you.  Also if anyone else has been in touch with shipping companies please try and have any quotes/information ready for the meeting on Saturday.
