Dear brothers and sisters,

HOH is very pleased to announce to you a good news for you to share with
your children, brothers, sisters, relatives, and friends who have just
finished their high school to attend the 1st HOH historical event on “Life
Preparation for Success after High School”. The event is set to be the
largest and most inspiring youth event of its kind in Phnom Penh 2009 which
accommodates up to 1200 recent high school graduates from different
provinces across the nation . The program is designed to help young people
become the “light of hope” by inspiring and sharing life learning
experiences from successful people, employers, companies, and universities.


Why this event?

HOH believes that youths are pivotal with tremendous influence to

positively impact families, communities and society. As an old Khmer

saying goes, “Shoot succeeds bamboo while male and female youths are

successors of the nation.”


According to the HOH research, many young people:


Ø Do not have clear and strategic goals for their study, job or life;

Ø Fail to choose academic subjects suited to their own potential or
interest, rather chooses career paths determined and influenced by friends,
relatives and parents;

Ø Delve too deeply in short-term pleasures (love, sexual intercourse,
gambling, drug and alcohol abuse, laziness etc.), which disrupts their life
goal and causes trouble for family and society.


The objective of the event is to help Cambodian youth open up their

consciousness to strengthen their life journey and prepare for post high

school education to reach their fullness of life. We expect them to:

Ø Make better decisions in choosing the right subjects and
universities;

Ø Master better study techniques and strategies in an effective and
efficient manner;

Ø Have better understanding of the working world and career journey for
success in the workplace.


Date of the event: 29 August 2009 (8:00 am-5:00 pm)

Venue of the event: National Institute of Education (Near Vimean
Ekareach)
