Interestingly Ventnor Blog checked this out re: taking notes with the electoral commission & found that it was 'up to the discretion of the officer'

OK so the head of electoral services says I'm not allowed to photocopy
or scan them - or make any electronic copies - so I'm sending him the
two investigations already underway - do you know any relevant
legislation I can quote to make sure these get released online?
I'm going to view them on Wednesday next week.
