Hope everyone is busy with their deliverables and Tech mela.

RAHUL will not be available upto March, iam going to collect slates from him.We should meet some time tomarrow and finalize the plan to visit the school.

Update on money with narasimha is Rs 34,900.

Hi All

 

1. Murugan or Dolly can one of you be in touch with Allipuram person. So we know his avaliability.
2. I have audio CDs which are ready.
3. I have PCs which we are donating.
4. We plan to provide one time lunch in school. I know Rahul was in touch with Principal for this but now can someone talk with school authorities.

I feel maximum 5 people are enough to visit school.

 

We need volunteer for this so please confirm your avalibility for this weekend.

We need to arrange Transport also.

Hi All,

 

I am going to summarise few things based on the discussion we had so far as below :

1. Murali is intiating discussion with School itself as we  first visit with Allipuram , this time we can do by ourself since it is continued visit for the same purpose
2. Nitin has account of all computers and CD's
3. Murgan has account of all the slates
4. Murali sppoke to school person and they uinformed we have to get in contact with caterer's contact number from there  and fund the same OR  school person will get in touch with caterer first and inform us on amount/fund.Finalise by tomarrow.
5. Minimum 5 Volunteer required including at least 2 telgu speaking.I apperciate if few more come forward  to participate so that we have better interaction with students
6. Murgan, Nitin, Ashish and Murali will coordinate for transport and finalise by tomarrow eod.

Volunteers who ensured the Visit surely - Jaysree, Murgan, Ashish, Nitin, Prasanna , Doli, Nitteen & Sandhya(optional). Also inform if someone is not sure , will shortly finalise the name for transport arrangements.

 

Apperciate your interest and encourage you all to come forward & partciapate for  Activity on 14th Feb 09.

Hi All,

 

Thanks for your support and co-operation.

Finally we visited the blind school today.We handovered the SLATES,CD's,1 PC and Monitor.

We had arranged lunch for the students.and given swts,hot and fruits.They felt very happy for that.It was a good experiance for us to be part of the event.

Hey seeing the pics i feel that the visit was a huge success.

I had a talk with Murugun and he told me how happy the students felt.

Thanks to one and all who made this event a huge success.

As  always we are happy that we made a difference in  their lives even for a single day.

Hope we do some good, as much as we can thru our Helping Dudes.

Hi All

 

It was a great experience for me to visit the school.

 

As we are talking about the next activity..i want to put up one point.

when we went to the school..some of them came to me individually and requested for audio tapes rather CD's.

All the inter-mediate students over ther are given tape recorders and they will be able to listen if it is a tape(i mean cassette)

the machines like braillers/PC's etc., are kept in a room and are locked.they will not be able to access them all the times.

 

So...If possible for us,we can try to record those cd's in a cassette

Do you have another copy of the Audio CD's which we gave them??

 

To add to the point,if we have a copy...we can wait for the comments/compliments from the present blind school about the cd's.

If they are useful for them,we can replicate the cd's and give to another blind schools too.

I will start working on getting CDs converted in Audio Cassette.

Great to hear that!!!

I was little worried to give them the CD's hoping that we dont have a copy of it.

 

Audio Cassette required only for Intermediate students.

particularly they asked for Economics in Telugu.

So,if we are going to give a try,lets first focus on economics.

they also specified saying,it would be good if at the end of each lesson,there should be questions and answers relating to that lesson.

its a little difficult task to do..but we can atleast try for lessons.

if it is like playing the cd's we have ..and recording the same in the cassette...its a little easy task that can be done.

if it is not possible,lets see what we can do.

 

possibly record the questions and answers manually(by manually i mean,we ourselves reading out!!! which we tried before for biology)

if that is the case,we can have nominations on who are going to do that work.

as of now,lets keep it as a point to be discussed.
