Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Senior Azure Data Engineer to design, develop, implement, and support scalable data engineering and analytics solutions within a Microsoft Azure environment.

The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience with Azure Data Factory, Azure Databricks, PySpark, SQL, Azure Data Lake, Event Hub, data warehousing, and CI/CD pipelines. This role will work closely with application teams, Product Owners, technical leads, business teams, and other stakeholders to deliver reliable and scalable data solutions.

Required Qualifications

• 3+ years of software solution development or data engineering experience in an Agile/DevOps environment.
• 3+ years of data analytics experience using SQL.
• 3+ years of cloud development and data lake experience, preferably with Microsoft Azure.
• Hands-on experience with Azure data services such as Azure Data Factory, Azure Databricks, Azure Data Lake, Azure Event Hub, Azure Blob Storage, and Azure DevOps.
• Strong experience in data engineering, data modeling, ETL/ELT, and data warehousing.
• Experience developing and supporting production-grade data pipelines.
• Experience working with cross-functional teams including engineers, technical analysts, Product Owners/Project Managers, technical leads, and business stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications

• 5+ years of software solution development or data engineering experience.
• 5+ years of data analytics experience using SQL.
• 3+ years of full-stack development experience, preferably within the Azure ecosystem.
• Experience with large-scale enterprise data platforms.
• Experience with both batch and streaming data processing.
• Experience with data security, privacy, governance, and compliance.
• Experience mentoring engineers and providing technical leadership.
• Airline/aviation industry experience is a plus.

• Experience with distributed systems, APIs, databases, cloud technologies, and DevOps practices.
• Strong understanding of object-oriented design principles.
• Ability to troubleshoot complex technical problems and perform effective root cause analysis.
• Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly through documentation, diagrams, code, and verbal communication.

Preferred Qualifications

• Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
• Airline / Aviation industry experience.
• Experience with large-scale enterprise applications.
• Experience with Kubernetes, PostgreSQL, Redis, GitHub Actions, Maven, and JUnit.
• Experience mentoring engineers and providing technical leadership.
• Experience designing highly available, scalable, and resilient distributed systems.
