Family members,
please check the update on suresh's health to be posted in the website. please make suggestions or modifications to the below update and let Hitesh gaaru know the finalized version so that it can be posted for all who are helping us get through these tough situations.

I know that our family cannot thank you all enough for all your prayers and standing by us during these difficult situations, Thank you all very much!! for all your support and prayers. Our family is profoundly thankful to each and every one of you.

Suresh is still in COMA and we as everyone praying for my brothers speedy recovery are waiting for my brother to wake up and talk to us. His other injuries are showing a sign of improvement.

He is able to breathe on his own, punctured lungs and ribs are healing. His tracheostomy has been capped and two small tubes are put in his nose to provide oxygen. His tracheostomy is uncapped and secretions / Phlem suctioned as and when needed by the nurses. He is having a good cough which doctors say is a good sign.

Thanks to the Doctors and nurses of ERLANGER who have worked really hard to save his life.
Initially when he was brought to the hospital, his lungs were totally punchured and spleen cut and liver cut and don't exactly know what other internals were damaged. but his stomach was cut right from under the rib cage till under his naval to make sure and stich the internals where there was blood loss. After pumping 10 satchets of blood and giveing lot of fluids he had swelled a lot making it difficult to close his abdomen. His abdomen was closed after few days when his entire body swelling subsided to a stage where the doctors could stich his stomach.

Doctors say that Liver will heal on it's own. His broken collar bone, shoulder bone, major hip bone, along with the C4- spinal injury would not need surgery and would heal on its own.
It is hard to move him from side to side inorder to make sure he does not get bed-sores.
His operated right ankle's stiches have been removed. His left hand cast would come out in another 4weeks.

My mother keeps talking to him eagerly waiting for him to call her 'AMMA' and tries to massage his left leg and right hand where we feel we can touch him without hurting him or being scared of possibly aggrevating his injuries.

With the kind of head injury he sustained it is very difficult to see improvements on a daily basis but it is a long term process as suggested by doctors. We have our hopes high and strong belief in GOD that Suresh will definately get well soon.

Once again sincerely and from deep with my hearts thankyou all,
Ramesh Penchala
