Loading Libraries/Packages

Hello Team.

 

I have been placing packages at C:\Users\Owner\Documents\R\win-library\2.8

 

Is there any reason I should be saving libraries to C:/PROGRAMFILES/R/R-2.8.1/library/...?

 

I ask upon arriving at the following command in the intro documentation:

 

filepath <- system.file("data", "morley.tab" , package="datasets")

 

which accesses the filepath

 

"C:/PROGRA~1/R/R-28~1.1/library/datasets/data/morley.tab"

Out of curiosity, why are you setting the package install path?
install.packages will take care of all of that for you
