The min-width of the portals windows, how can that be modified ie a bit
smaller ?

AS it is now the apply button is outside in the margin so scroll
horizontally is necessary.

I use a 1280x1024 screen.

I'm sorry to hear that. 

You could run the following command on your hub to adjusts the the minimal width to 1280px. :

sed -i 's/min-width:1385px/min-width:1280px/' /var/cfengine/httpd/htdocs/public/themes/default/bootstrap/compiled/css/cfengine.less.css 

We will also change the minimal value in the sources.
