Mr. Hitendra Gupta, an alumnus of IIMC, is going to contest for the
post of Member, Managing Committee, Press Club of India scheduled to
be held on Oct. 24, 2009. Having spent about 15 years in the
electronic media with organizations like New Delhi Television and the
Sahara media group he belongs to the first generation of television
journalists in India. He joined NDTV in Oct.1995 (One of the first
employees, and part of the team which produced news software
supplement for Star News, before the group launched its own news
channels).After spending about eight years in NDTV Mr. Gupta moved
towards a newly launched news channel Sahara Samay (National) in 2003
[Now the channel is renamed as ‘Samay’]. As a Senior News Producer, he
is contributing to the cause of journalism through the National and
Regional News Channels of Sahara India Television News Network.
Hitendra Gupta has also been amongst the pioneers in the internet blog
space. His blog Hello Mithilaa [URL- http://hellomithilaa.blogspot.com],
is the most popular community blog continuously being read in about 90
countries.
