The MGSA is pleased to announce the award of an Innovative Initiatives Grant to The Hellenic Education & Research Center (HERC), www.herc.gr, and the Greek Epigraphic Society for its project Greek Inscriptions Online (GIO), www.greekinscriptions.com. The proposal seeks to translate (with active commentary / usability) the diverse texts of Ancient Greek inscriptions so as to make them accessible to speakers of Modern Greek, especially to Greek university level students and faculty as well as high school teachers and pupils. The project also hopes to encourage members of the wider academic community in the field of classics and related fields worldwide to learn Modern Greek.
