GREEK EVENTS PREVIEWS
By George and Michael Gekas

E-mail: in...@greekeventspreviews.com

  Week of October 1st, 2012

Dear readers,

Our apologies for the technical difficulties we ve been having.  We were unable to send out the September 15th issue, and the two blank emails you received were due to a software problem, not a virus.  We believe we have solved the problem - fingers are crossed!.  You do not need to re-subscribe to our newsletter.  Sorry for the confusion!

We had the pleasure of meeting Academy Award winner Olympia Dukakis at the Moonstruck Greek America Foundation fundraiser last month.  What an inspiration!  Her passion for Hellenism and knowledge of Greek-issues impressed us!  If only all Greek-heritage celebrities were as vocal and proud to be Greek...

Are you following us Twitter @GreekEvents?  We tweet reminders of the events close to when they happen.

The Greek Canadian History Project (GCHP) is an initiative designed to preserve the memory and experiences of Canada s Greek immigrants and their descendants. It is designed to collect and preserve primary source documents (papers, photographs, books, pamphlets, diaries, letters, audio and visual materials, etc), which reflect the activity of ordinary individuals and organizations. In short, the GCHP is an archival venture meant to preserve the knowledge and memory of Greeks in Canada.   CATCH OF THE DAY: Goddess of the Hunt Website

The Goddess of the Hunt (aka GOTH) is a Greek creative collective designed to deliver food-for-thought for the contemporary and antsy Greek spirit.  Our obsession is to dig up the undiscovered and under-promoted projects of Greek creativity from around the world and deliver them right to your inbox, so you ll search no more. We are independent, agitated, out-and-about and guided by no rules other than the austere criteria of high aesthetics.  Like archaeologists, you will find us constantly digging for surprising hidden artifacts produced by the global Greek community.  We don t always know what we re looking for, but when we find it, we share it with a Mom-I-found-money-on-the-street! enthusiasm.  We aim our arrows high to demolish stereotypes and give a fresh twist on the perception that Greek creativity is as static as ancient statues.
