[Hx] New Jitsi Web Toolbar and Virtual Backgrounds

To All,

I have updated our Jitsi server to the latest version of Jitsi Meet. The new version has a Web toolbar which is responsive to window size, and virtual backgrounds which users can configure. These enhancements were announced in this blog post: March update: virtual backgrounds, new toolbar UI and more! - Jitsi. Presuming that we use our Jitsi server to host the next Helix Virtual Conference, participants who prefer to transmit a virtual background will be able to do so. The virtual backgrounds are good enough for our purposes, and are competitive with other videoconferencing systems.

As an aside, real-time advanced chroma key effects like those we are accustomed to seeing on broadcast television still require specialized hardware. That hardware is now fractionally as expensive as it was not so long ago, yet it seems reasonable to expect high quality results from our Apple hardware  in the relatively near future.
