Helix 8 was released in December 2019. All Helix 8 components (RADE, Engine, Server, Client, and Utility) will run on any Intel Macintosh hardware running Mac OS X system software versions from 10.6 Snow Leopard through 10.14 Mojave. They will NOT run under later versions of MacOS, nor on Apple Silicon Macs (M1 and M2 processors). Big Giant Donut acquired Helix in the fall of 2022. Support for current systems is forthcoming; for more information on Helix, see Big Giant Donut's website.

The Helix-L List is a low- to occasionally medium-volume discussion list open to all with an interest in Helix.
