The software that runs Helix-L, CommuniGate Pro, no longer supports the community version which currently runs this list, and I have not been able to find a comparable replacement.  Sadly, I will have to give up on running Helix-L.

I think I can keep it running until the end of February, but at that point I will no longer be able to operate the list.  I would be happy to turn it over to someone who has the facilities to continue it, or perhaps Big Giant Donut will continue it as a mailing list or replace it with a forum.  Cheers,

Dear Gib,
I am sad to read about the end of "Helix-L“. I want to thank you for all the effort you invested in this project
for so many years. I also hope not to loose contact to all the extremely valuable buddies contributing their
Experience and willingness to help the less experienced readers. Of course I strongly  hope this group has a future
(Together with BigGiantDonut).

The world just got a little bit darker.
You all were like family and you, Gib, kept it together through rain and snow. Thank you!

Happy trails to all of the community!

It would be very simple to recreate this group on another platform like groups.io.  This group is probably small enough that there should be no charge to set it up and maintain it.

Thanks Gib, for having managed this for so long.

Regards,

Ian Budd

Gib,

Thanks for all you’ve done over the years. Even though I retired and retired my Helix collection this list is what made all of that possible.

Dear Ian and other,

Thanks first to Gib ... the group has helped me a lot over the last couple of years back with Helix, when I've become stuck / confused.
It's been nice having another place to go to find an an answer, especially when the QSA resources were so patchy / labyrinthine.

I would be happy to join a groups.io group
groups.io seems to work well for two other groups I subscribe to - as diverse as travel writers for a particular publisher and Yanmar mini tractors.

It might serve as an interim solution – and a starting point when BD might set something up, involving new purchasers.

I have not seen that many different names here .. I have no idea how many people currently subscribe to GIb's forum.

All best
Dominic

This list has been a lifeline for someone like myself who came late to the Helix game 22 years ago… Without it we would have likely moved on from Helix years ago and would likely be poorer and worse off for it. I’d happily support whatever new list replaces it.

Thanks to Gib.

Cheers,
Steve
