Greetings!   We recently heard word about another workday this weekend, hosted by Friends of Washington Square.      Washington Square Park Volunteer Workday  Saturday, June 25th 9am - 1pm     Weeding. . . Raking . . . Planting . . . Aimee Miles, Families for North Beach Playgrounds Safer, Cleaner & Greener Playgrounds for Us All Kerrie, Elodie, Aimee, Catalina, Audrey, Georje Joe DiMaggio Clubhouse OPEN!   Joe DiMaggio Clubhouse is once again OPEN after being shut down for almost a year due to budget cuts.  Many thanks to those at Park Rec and the Friends of Joe DiMaggio who helped make this happen!   Clubhouse Activities through August  The Clubhouse is open M-F 12 pm - 7:00 pm  Closed Sat & Sun  Currently there is open rec programming - play ping pong, board games, basketball, kick ball, and much much more.  Toys for tots are also available all day!   *Stay tuned for possible Tot Time in July!   North Beach Library - Story-time and Summer Reading Program  North Beach Library Story-time is on Thursdays from 10:15 am - 12:00 pm And their Summer Reading Program is in full swing!   For more information about activities at the library check out their website at:  http://sfpl.org/index.php?pg=0100001401      Please Forward Our Newsletter to  Other Local Parents!   We are working on building our volunteer numbers, and are keeping track of how many hours our volunteers are working on these playground projects. These numbers will reported to the City and hopefully help us have more leverage when it comes to neighborhood upgrades and improvements down the line. The squeaky wheel...! Painting Joe D Playground     In addition to a much needed fresh coat of paint on the play structures, we are aspiring to create a kids' mural on the blank west wall of the playground (below). Rec & Parks is open to this, we are just getting through the proper channels to make it happen. Elodie at Future Kids' Mural Site We are still fundraising for paint. Painting supplies and supervision will be provided by Parks & Rec. Labor will be provided by you!
