Yer Best Shot: Free Lawn Bowling Open House This Saturday
Stop by and give lawn bowling a try with free lessons and check out what is one of the Park's hidden treasures: the oldest municipal bowling club in the country and a turn of the Century clubhouse christened back in the day by John McLaren himself! Like most, you've likely wondered what exactly was going on, why their parent's dressed them in all white, and if there are rules to this madness? Just bring a pair of flat shoes (no heels) and prepare to get schooled in a remarkably complex and nuanced game.
Saturday, May 7, from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m., at the San Francisco Lawn Bowling Club, located near Sharon Meadow and the Koret Children's Quarter in Golden Gate Park.
