Heidkamp Family-

Below are two messages -- the original one at the bottom from Beth and the one at the top from Don -- both from yesterday. I just spoke with my dad, Dick, who is with Don as he goes through test and treatments today. Our thoughts are with Don, Marsha, Dan, Beth, Mary and all the grandkids.

hi everyone,

tomorrow i will go into elmhurst hospital for tests and my first chemo treatments as my daughter beth has written.

i have a wonderful talented dr, dr gil, as my urological oncologist. marsha,beth, and danny were in on the consult and decision to proceed immediately. mary was in contact with all of us and agrees with proceeding with treatment as rapidly as possibly.

currently i am at great peace. i feel i am in the loving arms of god.

please pray for me and especially pray for marsha and all our kids and grandkids.

Family,

We wanted to let you know that Don has Stage 4 Small Cell Neuroendocrine Prostate Cancer. Unfortunately, it is a rare form and is more aggressive than initially thought and has spread to his liver and lungs. His health has deteriorated quickly so he will be admitted to Elmhurst Memorial Hospital tomorrow to start chemotherapy and to run more tests. We are hoping to "stall" the cancer and alleviate his pain.

Please keep the prayers and good vibes coming and we will continue to send updates. Of course, please pass along to family members.

Our prayers are with you and all your family. There are so many of us that God has to hear at least some of the Heidkamps or their offspring. Rhode Island is covering this part of the country. Peace to all of you. Love, Virginia and warren.
