to Heidkamp Family
Hey, I know we haven't used this Heidkamp e-mail list in a little over a year, but I'm not active on social media -- so this was the best way I thought to let people know about this ...

About 5 years ago, I took Ann and Dick to StoryCorps downtown at the Cultural Center and the three of us recorded a conversation about the unique way Ann and Dick met and got married.  At the time, StoryCorps just gave us a CD of the interview and stored a recording in their archives. It never made it on NPR, but we thought it was pretty good.

As of a week ago, though, StoryCorps has completed putting most of these conversations online for everyone to access. And I just wanted to let some family and friends know, if they want to hear a bit of Ann and Dick's story, it's right here:

It's slow starting but if you stick with it, it's kind of cool.

And feel free to forward it to anyone you'd like -- or post it on social media.

I know Shamey has been such a great oral historian of our family -- and he has his own video interviews of family. In the spirit of that type of work, the StoryCorps digital archive is really a beautiful thing -- having all of this high quality oral history just a click away.  If you create a free StoryCorps account, you get access to more of the archive (I made Ann and Dick's interview completely public, but most are just accessible those who have registered). And if you are interested in recording your own conversations and having they stored at StoryCorps, you can get an app for your phone that will make you into an amateur oral historian.

Anyway, enjoy!
