Dear Fellow Heidkamp's

This week I was attending a trade show in Fort Worth Texas and when I went to get my badge they gave me one for a Bret Heidkamp.  Not sure if and how we are related but we could not pass up the chance to take a picture of what could be two very distant cousins.

I will leave it to our respective ancestry experts to ask the appropriate questions.

I hope that the rest of the Emil Michael Heidkamp wing of the family will join me is sending best wishes to Bret and all of the Heidkamp's in his immediate family tree.

Emil "Nick" Heidkamp

How funny. Would need to know a few of his ancestors, but if he is part of the Cincinnati- western Pennsylvania Heidkamps, we have yet to determine a connection.

But it does turn out that Emil Michael's father, Judge Adolph N. Heidkamp (born in Odenthal, next to Bergisch-Gladbach - outside of Cologne Germany) had a sister with descendants, so we may still have some direct-descent Heidkamps still living in Germany (the Gerfers are our half-cousins through Judge Adolph's maternal Steinbach lineage).

Hope that helps!
