Heidi's Funeral Arrangements -- from Jonah

Please forgive the somewhat random group the email. I've compiled this list from people who've written or visited in the past two days. Please pass this on to anyone who needs to know.

I want to say thank you from our family to all of you who’ve written such heartfelt, often heartbreaking messages of remembrance and support.

I hope we’ll have the chance to meet and talk in person soon.

The funeral will take place on Saturday 18 August, 10am, at the Methodist Central Church in the City of Johannesburg:

The physical address is 79 Pritchard Street, cnr Smal Street, just past the High Court  travelling east on Pritchard. http://www.methodist.org.za/society/central-methodist-mission-0

There is secure parking at a Wilsons parking garage round the corner. Carry on down Pritchard, turn left into von Weilligh, then first left into Jeppe St and then IMMEDIATELY left into the basement parking garage.

 Once inside the garage EITHER: exit the parking garage into the Smal Street Mall, turn left and walk towards Pritchard Street, then around the fence and into the church;

OR (in case the roller door into the mall is closed on the weekend), proceed to the parking paypoint, exit the garage, turn right into von Weilligh, right into Pritchard and arrive at the church.

Once inside the church, go to the sanctuary on the first floor, or ask anyone for help. Among the people you’ll bump into will be many Zimbabwean refugees who’ve come to call the church home. It’s a very fitting venue for a tribute and farewell to Heidi.

Finally, we’ve a nominated charity for donations in lieu of flowers. It’s a children’s education project in Zimbabwe that Heidi had a hand in setting up, along with my wife Nicky and it does wonderful work. We’ve discovered a few teething problems in the process of making online donation from South Africa so please bare with us, details will follow.

We look forward to seeing as many of you as possible on Saturday. Afterwards, there’ll be something to eat and drink back in Heidi’s hometown of Melville, at Lucky Bean, 16 7th Street, (011) 482 5572.
