file i/o and serial port

first of all, i'm very happy having discovered hecl, i wanna say thanks to all developers for the good work.
Now for my questions:

I have some problem using file I/O with the "open" command. is there a working example somewhere? I assume it doesnt work with the online emulators, but on my LiMo phone its already asking me to give the permission, but then i always get a "file not found" error. Whats the URI syntax? do i use puts to write into this file?

Also, i would like to know if i can I/O with a serial port (/dev/ttyS0) with these commands. that would be really cool.

Hi,

The syntax, IIRC, depends a lot on what kind of java environment Hecl
is running in.

I don't think serial ports work, but maybe you could hack on it and
see what can be done!

I don't do much of anything with Hecl these days, unfortunately, but
there are others who use it.
