Evening All,
Some good news today, we should be able to announce the successful bid
for a capital grant off CnES at the AGM. I spoke to Emma MacSween
today and she assured me that we will be in receipt of £130K for the
financial year 2009/10, which was nice! Therefore the club meet will
be important in setting out a framework of actions for the next year.
Secondly (directed in the general vicinity of Windy) we must ensure
that all details regarding membership application forms, SCU insurance
for under 16’s etc is all ready to be implemented from the AGM
onwards. This is an ideal time to preach to a captive audience in
terms of the juniors who are mad keen, so I would hope Johnny can make
sure as many as possible attend. Also – not wishing to sound like a
contestant from the Apprentice, we need to organise the sale of
merchandise for the coming year. So if Gav could have order forms and
catalogue ready that would be superb.
Pete Laing (Trail Guru) hopes to make it up for the AGM so we can
possibly do a presentation, and perhaps a bit of hands on trail
building with the whole club.
Again a huge amount to cover so I will circulate an agenda for the end
of next week. Therefore if anybody has any burning issues that are not
yeast related then please contact myself over the next week or so. I
will also endeavour to get the minutes for the year sorted, which I
admit to being crap at. Everybody has indicated that one of the
weekends at the end of January would be ok so I will post the date of
either the 24th or the 31st, dependent on Pete’s ability to get up to
the Island.
Finally best to keep the news about the grant quiet until I get it in
writing, plus it could allow us to get a Rod photo moment – maybe even
get on the front page of the gusset (therefore we need to bring any
attractive people we know to stand at the front, as, if I am being
honest we’re not the prettiest club in the world!).
Aren’t bikes brilliant!

Orite there folks.

After a panic last week, at thinking I had forgotten the AGM, I
haven't but as a reminder. Can I ask EVERYONE to show face on SATURDAY
31ST at 12PM at the Woodlands Centre. There is alot to go through, and
an exciting time ahead.

Can you gather up as many kids as are willing to join up,

Windy,
Can you get everything in place for the junior memberships, and word/
confirmation on insurance. We will need to know what juniors are going
to have to pay and hand out application forms/permsission slips etc
