Does anyone have access to, or know someone who has a UV printer?

If you mean a photo lithography 3d printer, the one in the lab did work. You'll need resin.

No, I mean a flatbed printer. Basically you can print on any surface including those with compound curvature.

I think I saw a booth in the Chandler Mall with one.  They had examples of printing on wood and other materials.

Do you recall what it's called?

One company that makes the machines is Logojet

I met some of their staff at a conference, they were able to print on some pretty complicated geometries (I can post photos if anyone wants, but you'll probably find better examples on their site.

Start@west-mec has one of these printers and they can run jobs for you.

It's on the far west side though. Like by Cardinals stadium.

Can someone explain how they work and what they look like? This sounds pretty cool. Is it dye sublimation or stamp with UV cure ink or??

The machine starts printing at 12:30 in that video. It apparently can add texture too!

They're super awesome and super expensive. And that's exactly right, like Jason said, it looks like an inkjet printer that can print on pretty much anything. The cool thing about it is that as far as consumables it's very efficient and the applications are pretty wide. You can print on t-shirts or plastics. Pretty cool! It would be neat if the lab could get one, but from what I've seen, it's way out of the price range.

Thanks Paul, I'll take a look at that!

Hey Paul, do you know how I would go about asking them to do a job? Or where I can find out how much it would be, things they need etc.? Thanks!

That video was awesome.  I went from never having heard of a UV printer to realizing that I desperately need one, in about 12 minutes.

cheers,
