Hey all! At tonight's Hack your Hackerspace meeting I started a new thing, members voting directly on proposals including proposed use of lab space. Tonight's results are below. DO NOT LEAVE ANYTHING IN THE LAB WITHOUT HAVING IT APPROVED. WE DON'T HAVE ENOUGH SPACE. If for some reason you can't wait til the next meeting for a vote, you can seek an exception directly from me, but unless it's really urgent I'll ask you to put it up to the group.
At the next Hack your Hackerspace meeting on the 25th we'll vote on any new proposals, so please post your proposals here or in a new thread with a subject prefix of Proposal: -- discussion happens beforehand, and a quick majority vote happens on the night of. Attendance is required to vote.
So for example if you want a Laser Shark statue in the lobby, or space to work on your huge project, or a vending space for sheet metal, or if you want to make some kind of rule, propose it here at least 1 week prior in very clear language (I propose that _____________) so that the group can discuss the details beforehand. Then be present (or have a representative present) to put it up for vote during the meeting. The voting will go quickly and then we'll get to work on whatever needs to be done around the lab.
Rules passed tonight were as follows:
- No sleeping at the lab more than 2 days per week.
- Don't do anything that makes us make more rules.
Lab space approvals (all in Kipp Hall) passed:
- Moheeb's arcade machine
- Jacob's vending machine
- Robert's plotter
