Hey all. I've met several members in person over time, but here's a "quick" background of who I am and what kind of stuff I like to do.
I went to college for Naval Architecture and Offshore Engineering until Berkeley shut-down the major and I had to switch to Computer Science (best forced change of my life). Worked in silicon valley for years before moving out to AZ about 10 years ago.
Worked in aerospace machining thru high school, so used to know my way around a mill. Need to get back up to speed for sure.
I've done lots of arduino projects. Coolest one was a remote water level sensor for a irrigation district in Phoenix to determine their weirs weren't splitting water like they were supposed to. Redesigned them and oversaw installation and line replacement.
The poll lights rigs on stage I made from RGBW leds strips and they work based on custom videos created to do along with each song in time etc. So lots of Adobe Premiere editing etc.
I'm an avid board gamer ever since old Axis and Allies back in 80s. Now days I use a CR-10s to 3d print terrain for my Gloomhaven group and DnD. Got into 3D resin printing so I can create and paint minis for games too. I use Blender to do most of my design and editing stuff.
What initial brought me to Heatsync was learning to use the laser cutters for use in making the prototypes for a board game me and my partner are planning on kickstarting early next year. It's based on the Field of Paleontology of North American Mesozoic. Players discover fossil and research different specimen to end up publishing Holotypes. Heatsync members have been great helping me get decent on the lasers for creating custom dice, meeples and boards. Heatsync been a great group and environment and I look forward to being around and give back with my time, I'm free during week days mostly.
Thanks!
