Devansh reorganized and cleaned up the electronics area! (Thanks Devansh!) Its got spool holders to make the wires way more accesible.

The soldering stations are more accesible. There is sitll a pile of electronics to go through on the ground in that area that may take some time to sort through.

In the meantime please be sure to clean up after yourself so we can maintain tidy stations!

Devansh and I also cleaned up one of the window displays. I've set up a CRT video wall, Only one has something hooked up to it at the moment but I just got the parts in to set up the rest. If anyone has visuals they'd like to contribute I'm happy to put them up! I'll set a more easier way for people to contribute on the fly soon enough.

One request I ask is that the window spaces dont be used for storage and that if you contribute something to display, you give yourself a window of time for when you'll swap it out! I will keep my video wall in the window for 6months to a year (unless someone would like me to move it to put something else in there)

Anything that was removed from the table was put in a box that is placed below one of the display tables. We moved the delta to the space next to the resin printers because we didn't know what to do with it. Hopefully someone can get it printing again :)

I want to tackle the other window display area in the coming weeks, open to ideas/collab or if someone else wants to take charge. So far my thought was to just tidy that area and mount some stuff to the walls again (like the big rocket).

Nate Caine has also been working on repairing our water heater! (Thanks Nate!) I know the temptation to tinker but I'd reccomend leaving it to him as tampering can have unintended consequences and is probably a tad unsafe.

Darrel is working on repairing the stop thing on the drill press that lets you set height. The steel bracket on it snapped and its missing a nut. Thanks Darryl!

Coffee and Code was rad yesterday! We went to Chupacabra after as we do, worked on a super top secret lab project after and then went to Level One followed by some board games at the lab.

The board games are on the floor shelves by the lockers, please feel free to play them, just make sure to properly stow them after.

Finally, tomorrow is Friendsgiving at the lab! Check the existing thread to see what people are making, please bring a dish/beverage but no pressure to do so! I suspect we will have lots of food. I've also convinced Luis to set up karaoke if anyone wants to sing ;)

Thats all I can think of at the moment, please add anything interesting or noteworthy you saw this week to this thread!

A Raspberry Pi running xscreensaver seems like a low-effort way to get a wide variety of cool visuals. It can auto-cycle between selected screensavers. Many display text that could be made lab-specific.

See this playlist for what the savers look like: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Kx8zJHVIiUQ&list=PLbe67PprBSpqM_-HU49fmIS8ncApw4i08

What does this include? Could I just bring in a Raspberry Pi 4 with HDMI out? Or will I also need to provide an HDMI to RCA convertor? (Or even find a way to convert to RF using a co-ax connector?)

I'll actually be sad if the video wall is only up for 6 months. I can think of a lot of cool things that could be displayed on there!
