Due to knew information I learned tonight I'm proposing we no longer let a specific individual in the lab. For their privacy I won't be posting with much detail here. Please come to the next HYH for a summary of the details.

Starting now I won't host this person in the lab and will individually reach out to others I know and encourage them to do likewise.

If anyone knows of inappropriate behavior in the lab that makes people uncomfortable please email the board. Board @ heatsynclabs.org specific information about such incidents are necessary for follow up action.

Also I'm no longer on the board so please don't make things like this my problem if you can avoid it.

I understand the existence of privacy concerns, but can you outline the general nature of the offense(s), if only so other people know "Don't do this, no really, just don't"?

Yes we will talk about this at HYH.

This person was told the behavior was a problem and yet repeated the action on multiple occasions. So nobody is at risk of being unaware.

I have messaged this person so nobody has to wonder if this is me passive aggressively attacking them.

This person will be able to give their side of the situation at HYH.

I'm going to change my proposal to a temporary ban of this person for 2 months. Too many people are resistant to the idea of an outright ban and while I believe an outright ban is important to pursue it is more important to me that we have a formal consequence.

I agree with what you think Eric but I feel I should hold my thoughts since I'm partly to blame for this person being allowed around. I do host him but I watch him like a hawk and push him to be productive when he is here. One point I always explain to him is if he behaves appropriately he can be around. Me pushing him is probably why he's so willing to help clean. The only reason i feel he should be a part of the community is he lights up. Heatsync brings a motivation to his life. Obviously talking to him wont be effective maybe a ban can work. I will support any decision the board/ community makes with this person.
