The chromebook if it did get something spilled in it is likely a goner (You
can try a different power adapter and the basic things to try to reset it,
but if it doesn't respond to any of that, the price of the labor involved
likely exceeds replacing the chromebook itself). Post the model numbers of
both the chromebook and the HP laptop though. You might get lucky with the
HP finding a AC adapter at the lab that is the right brand, wattage, and
connector. As for the password, if there's nothing on it, you can likely
start a windows recovery by pressing a certain key when it comes up, but if
there's data you need off it, other steps will need to be taken.
