Today is the last day for proposals to go out to be voted on at the first HYH in
December. They do not need to be in their final form until Dec 4 (a week before
the HYH meeting). I had been planning to hold off on several things, but with
the proposal to throw out a lot of the current bylaws, I am going to go through
the points that I think need improvement and see where the dicussion takes us
over the next couple of weeks before the proposal must be finalized. I am going
to do multiple small proposals instead of one big one.

in the acceptable behavior section, "non examples" needs to be re-worded,
"examples of unacceptable behavior' would be clearer

but I think this one needs to be removed
* Sitting for extended amounts of time without working on a project

I think it's just fine to have members sitting, talking, or just hanging out
reading (as long as we are not so crowded that we need the seats)

was this intended to prevent non-members from loitering in our space?

I believe, though I could be wrong on this one, this addressed a specific issue when the HeatSync couch existed, wherein a couple of persons took to using the lab and the couch as a de facto apartment and would sleep for hours across multiple days / visits without working on projects.

If that's the case, let's look for better ways to define that. I have heard that
at some point in the past the 'you must be working on something' rule came out
and some other member drove a lot of people away because they weren't obviously
working on something. (but the non-example of 'complaining about other people
not working on something was obviously added to try and address that after the
fact)
