Oh Haxmas Tree, Oh Haxmas Tree

We've set up a holiday tree in the front window at HeatSync Labs! I'll be honest, it's looking a little barren right now. But it's not a bad little tree. It just needs a little love... from you!

From now until Christmas, we encourage you to contribute ornaments to decorate it with.

- Laser-cut 'em

- 3D-print 'em

- Solder together some LEDs and a battery

- Cut and color paper

- Whatever you like!

One ask, though: please DON'T ENTER the front window area to add ornaments yourself. Instead, place them near the front (we intend to set up a labeled box for the purpose), and we'll get them added to the tree for you.

Here's the fine print: HeatSync Labs is not responsible for ornaments being broken/stolen/etc. Don't leave an ornament you can't bear to lose. The tree will be taken down the week of January 5; any ornaments still on it at that time will be set aside in a box near the front windows for people to reclaim. At that time normal HeatSync rules for unclaimed property will apply.

We want decorating this tree to be a community project; can't wait to see what people come up with!

So I'd call this project a resounding success! The tree is *covered* in a huge variety of ornaments. (Help securing a larger tree for next year would be appreciated!)

I've put away the box for ornament collection. I think we're going to laser-cut some more wood ornaments to color, but we should encourage kids to take them home rather than hang them on the tree. (Of course, if you're still working on a special one-off ornament, we'd still love to hang it; just let me know.)

Only one family stopped by for Lego Day today but they did make a pretty cool house for the Christmas "village". So, 2 houses under the tree currently. If anyone, kid or adult, wants to make more small ones, I think those 2 houses would be less lonely!

We'll attempt to return ornaments to their creators in January, watch for an announcement then!
