We ran an abbreviated HYH on Thursday. We didn't hit quorum until ~7:30pm so no decisions were made. I know I didn't do my normal reminder and I know we all have busy lives but please, try to attend HYH, and try to be on time. I myself had to rearrange my work schedule to be on time for this one. So, it's rather disappointing and frustrating when we don't hit quorum because it's one of our few chances per month to collectively... well, Hack Your Hackerspace -- to push the lab forward as a team.
Remember that even when there are no proposals there is still business to be done at every HYH.
8 members were present, 4 cardholders were present and 2 board members were present.
The only proposal up for a vote was the website refresh, which I tabled until the next meeting after a fruitful discussion. Thanks to those who came to give their feedback - much of it is already addressed, but I'll highlight the specific discussion points in another email. I then discussed fundraising efforts and Q4 2025 wins.
Landon noted that we are trying as a lab to break out of silos and run things more efficiently and reminded us that in order for the lab to run efficiently we need to be timely. He mentioned that we will probably need to put in a limit to how late we can hit quorum and still hold an HYH.
Nate mentioned that we are having issues with R&R - rats and roaches, but with the advice of Chris M we have acquired some good rat traps and reminded us of the importance of taking out the trash and properly containing your trash, especially food waste.
Austin and I took out the trash, Jay helped with the tables, and the place was swept and mopped.
Next meeting: Saturday, January 24 at 10:00AM. We have multiple cardmember nominations (Jay and Austin) that will be eligible. See you then! :)
