As we talk with other organizations and groups, we need to have nice, organized
'what is HSL' type of documents. Nowdays, I think we mostly need this in digital
form, but eventually something that is printable will be useful.
I am not good at this sort of thing, so I'm looking to see who enjoys doing this
sort of work and wants to help and or take responsibility for coordinating the
work.
I am thinking that we need at least two different sets of this.
1. focused on community 'look at all the fun events we host'
2. focused on tools we have
I'm personally more focused on the 2nd, thinking in terms of schools that have
makerspaces in them and the students who lose access to those tools when they
finish the class, summer vacation hits, they graduate, etc. I want to see us
link up to programs and position HSL as a "now that you know how to make things,
here is a place that has tools so you can keep making things" continuation.
I'm thinking in terms of a slide deck, with no more than about 3 slides per
station, showing what equipment the station has and some examples of the work
(fewer slides per station would be better, this is a quick overview of what we
have, not a tutorial).
I want these docs to have a permanent URL that we can put on business cards,
flyers, posters, etc.
Anyone interested?
