Kia ora Heathcote whānau - last week the Heathcote Valley Community Association (HVCA) met for our monthly check in. This month we discussed feedback on the September freecycle day, local gardening and planting projects, and options for our plans to create some Heathcote-themed goodies such as our Heathcote Valley bumper stickers. We also heard from Christina Freeman who shared a funding update for the new pump track - stay tuned to find out how you can get involved too!
We hope you all received the Spring edition of the Heathcote Community Magazine, which is a great way to keep in touch with community projects (and people!).
One of our recent focuses as a committee has been around better connecting with people seeking guidance and support with community projects. We have made a plan to introduce several community led hui to the community centre schedule in 2026 and look forward to sharing more information on this with you next month.
The HVCA committee meets every month and everyone is welcome - our next meeting will be on Thursday 13 November. We ask that if you have something you'd like to specifically speak about that you email Jen -
hvcc.b...@gmail.com - prior to ensure we can reserve a speaking slot.
