Even though my printer installation instructions say NOT to plug it in before installation, I decided to anyway.
My reasoning was that USB always seems to use pnp and install drivers the first time you use a device.
I don't remember ever using a USB to parallel cable, so I guessed that's why a USB local port didn't appear in the list.
When installed, this shows up on the target/development machine under port "USB001 - Virtual Printer Port for USB". On checking Device Manager, this device doesn't show up under 'Ports (COM & LPT)'. It does however recognize the printer by displaying "USB Printing Support", which can be found under 'Universal Serial Bus controllers' (image below).
But now, I have to switch to USB printer rather than serial. My USB printer is connected at virtual printer port (USB001). Now, printer.USB() requires vendorID and productID but in my case when I see Device Instance Path, it does't contain vendorID and productID (screenshot is attached below). I am stuck here that how can I connect with this USB printer.
"Install a serial emulation driver:
Some USB receipt printers have a driver which creates a Virtual Serial Port.
After installation; configure uniCenta oPOS to use the receipt printer as if it is connected to a regular serial
port."
Just purchased an epos system and this software was downloaded onto it, I have created all my categories and products however I cannot get my Epson printer to connect. The epos system is a Toshiba and the receipt printer is connected to port PRT1 However when I go into configuration and select Epson, serial, PRT1 and then save and reboot the printer still doesn't work?
