Dear member of the Heart of Recovery group:

As some of you may know, the Heart of Recovery group will no longer be meeting at the Shambhala Meditation Center in Eagle Rock for the time being.  It was an amazing 10-year run!!! But as we know, all things must end and so we say good-bye to Eagle Rock for now.

But this is not the end of the Heart of Recovery in Los Angeles.  Instead, the meeting is moving to a new location in Studio City.

Starting Thursday, May 2nd, our group will be meeting at the Unitarian Universalist Church of Studio City.  We will gather every 1st and 3rd Thursday of the month.  Meeting hours will be from 8:15pm to 9:30pm.

There will be slight changes to the format to accomodate more other forms of meditation and tranditions to share their experience strength and hope.  We will continue to read and have timed shares keeping in mind to allow others the opportunity to share at every of our gatherings.  For now, I will hold the position of facilitator, offer meditation instructions, and lead the reading portion of the gathering.

Here's a link to the first gathering taking place on Thursday May 2nd:

The best way to stay in touch and keep up with upcoming gatherings is to sign to our meetup group where you will be able to add upcoming meeting dates and times to your calendar and receive the latest announcements.

We are really excited to partner up with the Unitarian Universalist Church of Studio City who has a long history of hosting 12-step gatherings.  I look forward to connecting with you at our new home as it may be of benefit to many on the path of recovery.

Your Friend in Recovery,

George G.
