On Saturday November 13th the HoT Randonneurs have a scenic 200k scheduled. Named for the RBA who doesn't like gravel (and a movie with a similar name)
No Gravel for Old Men. With a cold morning the hills at the beginning of the ride should warm you up. Plenty of stops along the way.
The last two times we road to Bartlett which is on the route we saw the film crew shooting the movie "Chocolate Lizards." Not sure if they are finished yet but when you watch the movie you may recognize the buildings downtown that were used in the film.
Signup on the website Heartoftexasrandonneurs.org pay the fee and sign the waiver. There will be no cue sheets or brevet cards provided. Proof of passage is your electronic route or if you do not have a GPS photos at the controls.
Please use this route as there are many on RWGPS.
This route avoids the Ronald Reagan Bridge over the I-35 freeway and has been altered to only make you ride one extra mile.
Note this ride is also a qualifier for the Rouler award if you do not have a 200-220k in the books yet. Hope to see you at the Cefco station in Salado for a 7:00AM start. Don't forget the day light is shorter now so if there is a chance you may be longer than 10 1/2 hours bring reflective gear and lights.
